Latest Series:
Televisionry

Taking the found imagery off the street into our loungerooms: our Televisions spew out a ridiculous amount of imagery per second, blink and it’s gone. Coincidence without intent happens quite frequently with images and subtitles, adverts that contain accidental juxtapositions, sporting moments that have incidents of heroic stature, these are the targets of the series “Televisionry”.

CREATIVE DOCUMENTATIONS

Architecture

Sculptors have it over painters in that they have one more dimension to play with. Architects play as god with sculptors and create on a massive scale. Photographers can now put them back in place by capturing the nuances that the arti-techs may not have realised their structures have placed upon the built environment. A bit like paper/scissors/rock this game of art.

people

They are everywhere doing their people thing. Most are scurrying to somewhere that they are only privy to, but some, in the slow-paced environment of the art gallery, perform like actors to the art, to the crowd and in fact become art itself.

COUNTRY

Australia has some of the world’s greatest samples of original forest along with settings of superb magnificence of ancient timbers located in remote settings of billion year land extrusions. Here is an attempt at capturing that ancient impression.

SPORT

Blessed with television’s sports coverage, we get to see sport from all angles. Here I have chosen certain apparitions of these angles from the luxury of an armchair.

“Light! That’s what fascinates me most. Everything we see is light reflecting off a surface, hidden by shadow, transferred by reflection, superimposed over glass that both reflects and allows its passage, and all that light is vibration.”

“Vibration! That’s what fascinates me as much. Everything we hear vibrates to a level our senses can discern. Sound and Light, makes music to my eyes.”

About MINDAUGAS

My sons’ friends couldn’t pronounce my name, they ended up calling me Moon Doogas, I chose that for my avatar on social media. Those pages don’t share too much light on my work, just a glimpse.

I am investigating making new languages with art, using techniques that may be old but never fully realised. I leave the modern methodologies to the new people, happy to stay within my own dimensions.
